I'd certainly not focus on pp. Join a guild, make friends, profit. If you're buying gear it shld be mr gear. An incapacitated monk isn't fun.

Actually no, my monk is just the highest level toon I have |: So it would only make sense to farm on your highest level toon right?

Here is a plat guide I made for Red99 specificly, some will work on Blue too. May have to make/build your class around it if you wanna farm it up or find some pals.
