What exactly is/was defiant gear? I hear that term tossed around all the time. I think I'd stopped playing live before whatever that is was implemented.

Basically generic sets are armor with good stats on it that drop from level appropriate mobs. So you could kill level 30 random non named and they have a chance at dropping armor that was better then you could get in guk/solb etc

Don't want to get him started, but...

Nirgon was right. Item recharging needs to go. Using clickies for everything is getting tedious. Soulfires / midnight mallets also need to go :P

Defiant gear is amazing because it allows true casual™ players like me to stop focusing on gear upgrades so much. That way we can concentrate on the fun aspects of gameplay (like killing orcs and frogloks).

Plus, with defiant gear being way better than anything that drops in kunark raids and having them drop from regular random mobs, EVERYONE will have the same gear! That way, no more poopsocking or guild drama, only tons of dead orcs and frogloks.

You can spend 5k on a toon and have enough gear to level to 60. If you want best gear then you have to work for it.
