On Blue.

It's pretty simple. Guy wants to group. Since wizards bring little benefit to a group, you'll have a hard time finding a group. As someone who wants to group, that means maybe you should pick a different class.

DPS doesn't even apply here. It's burst. And if you want to be super wizard group member and root/snare and stun as well, then you're going to be in action for a couple of minutes, then useless for 10 while you med. Other class simply do what you do and much more, and do it better for longer in a group setting. What incentive is a group going to have to invite a wizard when there's a dozen epic rogues and monks sitting there /lfg?

What are the best group classes?

I really appreciate all the information, but I really just made this thread to find someone to group. I have flux staff and snare, so kiting is easy and good exp if I duo with a melee class. Or maybe try to AE in a less populated zone. If anyone is interested send me a PM or in game. Wizards name is Mastir.

During 30s-50s Wiz really isn't awful DPS. One nuke devastates mobs and snare and stun are incredibly helpful for runners in the notoriously PITA mid-level zones. Once you get to Kunark damage output takes a hit due to the way the mobs HP pools are scaled.

The problem is nobody will group with you if you post up LFG. You have to make your own friends and take your own initiative otherwise you're SOL. There are dozens of threads that deal with this topic and every single time people put up the same exact tired ass arithmetic concerning level 60 spells. I grouped a ton while leveling but I never posted up - I had some friends that would always want to play.

You should head to Unrest Basement. You can duo it with a Cleric or get a nice little 3 or 4 man together with a cleric and two melees. One Thunder Strike line spell at that level will take out 40% health or so on a Festering Hag and also interrupt spells. Nobody else at those levels even wants to fuck with those mobs and you obliterate them. Nobody really wants to mess with the pit area either and its often open. Its good until high 30s.

This is just one example. Again, you have to be proactive because nobody will play with you due to the anti-Wizard vitriol that is spewed on this server daily. There's really not much else to say except that you have to develop thick skin :-)
