Yeah they stop the plank from dropping which kills the ability to do the quest for new people. The quest can still be completed after the nerf as long as you have the plank already. So grabbing a plank while you still can should be a priority, you can then finish the quest at a later date.

Plank can be tough to find though. It has lots of random spawn points. Not sure what the spawn time is though but it can be pretty much anywhere in the zone including underwater and iirc it was just a small bag like other dropped items.

GMs need to watch the hell out of that zone and banhammer anyone who makes a beeline right to the spawn point.

They just have to randomize the spawn points and leave them active for quite awhile so that the determined are able to get their plank.

It should be random and will be nearly impossible to find or atleast it was on live. We only had like 2 of the bfgs on veeshan.

Meh. It shouldn't be this rare. It just was a new expansion and not many people knew what stuff was for.

On this server I hope most who play the first month have a shot at getting this. It shouldn't be limited to neckbeard's who swim around Iceclad for 12 hours a day.

Everyone is going to be filling all their character slots with wooden planks to save for selling MQ after the plank stops ground spawning.

Well honestly it should not be allowed at all it was nerfed for a reason but it really will be limited to the people who swim 12hrs a day or more likely the people who buy the mq from bards who swim around for 12 hrs a day. At least if its like it was on live. It was nearly impossible to find

Bag wasn't that rare while it was active. People just didn't go looking for ground spawns in iceclad, and I'm sure many many planks rotted in banks/got destroyed.

From the time the quest was discovered until it was nerfed plenty of people got bags. I don't think people expected it to go away so it wasn't priority #1.

I wonder if there was a finite number of planks to be found, perhaps representing the remains of one specific ship... when the ship was fully looted the planks were gone?
