Thankfully its easy to get that genuine friend who gave you the items to probably buy them again cheaply in EC.

As everyone has pointed out it reeks of a guilty RMT plat transaction... remember you're here for classic EverQuest, not to power game in twinked items getting PL'ed to 60 as fast as possible. You won't enjoy it that way.

I've heard this advertised as it's own server before, I think the GMs endorsed it too, could be wrong tho.

Was on a noob character with no gear, who figures.

3) Only character on the account that I played was a low level monk with some hand me downs from a friend. I'd much rather not start over with a blank account - or is this my time to go red?

Buying most decent monk gear, have about 10k to spend and am looking for *MOST* slots! Weapons especially...post or message me here with what you have
So you had a noob character with just "hand me downs" from a friend, but also 10k to spend on monk gear, and no RMT was involved.

Sure, sounds legit to me.

I wonder how the GMs ever put the finger on him?

Just to play devil's advocate, I've had this happen to me several times where folks have just randomly tried to give me a lot of nice stuff/plat. And I don't think it had anything to do with rmt as the spells/gear was clearly perfect for my class. And one sent a tell "where are you?" first so I think they met me on an alt or something.

I still kinda feel bad about turning that down, refusing gifts seems so rude. But I play untwinked and would have just ended up deleting the toon later if I had accepted stuff I did not earn myself upon a spur of the moment.

I did totally appreciate the sentiment for what it's worth, and I do pay it forward even though I did not accept the trades.

So the guy who was complaining about red population ends up eating an RMT ban. Awesome!

Well, conceivably he posted his WTB after being given this 'large amount of plat' but before being banned (or realising he had been banned)...

... No, wait that doesn't add up. He had 10K and was looking for gear for three days, whereas in his story he says he discovered the ban the day after receiving the ten thousand.

Someone keeps dumping compost on my allotment... The plot thickens...

The stories people come up with are seriously amazing. Are they honestly so delusional that they think people will believe them? Reminds me of the dude who got banned for two-boxing and made up some elaborate story, only for Deru to post the raw evidence publicly in OPs thread. I'm on my phone so don't have the link.

Maybe they think it's worth a shot, since they have nothing else to lose?

GG idiots.

Same thing happened to me. GMs aren't going to believe you and people on the forum refuse to believe that someone would give away 56K (my amount). I e-mailed and spoke to a RMT'er before about this, and they said it was a common tactic to unload some plat like that to throw off the transactions, but doesn't always work as you can tell.

BTW you guys' reasoning that he hadn't bought anything yet for 3 days being a sign of guilt confuse me. Not everyone plays every day.

And don't you guys think he probably posted on the petition forum first?
