![]() Hate trash (for Apothic gear) is very easily done in one group. The only problem is the break in, which will probably require a few groups.
Epic, yeah good luck. 7 day respawn that's insta-killed....just good luck. Velious adds additional raid targets, rendering others less desirable. That being said, there's just no way to gauge what will happen if/when Velious launches, as far as the raid scene is concerned. C guilds will obviously focus on getting to ST, but will Inny/CT/etc be up very often, nobody really knows.

Granted, its absolutely fantastic (and not all that classic) when paired with a Donal's BP, but if you have a friend with that disgustingly overpowered item you can make do quite well with the focused Air pet.

![]() The staff can drop off male revenents after the revamp as well. It's a really rare drop even off of the Magi. Read some of the posts about how long it took people camping him to get one to drop.
There are dozens of Mages who have put in thousands of hours in this game and hundreds of hours into raiding with their guild and have had zero chances at the staff so don't get your hopes up until after the revamp. Even then it's a major long shot. Your best shot is to farm seafuries for 500 hours and then buy the MQ (and hope it drops to 500k by then). ![]() My understanding of the Staff drop was that revenants started dropping it in Hate B. Beyond the scope of this server. I feel like I did research on this when I thought the same thing you did and I found it was only dropped by Magi.
During Velious only Magi dropped it. And Magi is a long respawn with PHers and variance. The pet makes a mage with one vastly superior to a mage without one. No other amount of gear can make up for this fact. Even FT2-3. (since we won't have other foci on this server).

On raids or in groups, a focused max-level water pet should do similar damage (although a group will definitely miss the stun). Solo the mage can only have 1-2 epic pets before returning to earth/focused air. The only time the epic pet really seems amazing is in a duo with a cleric, preferably a BP cleric. Anyway, there is no denying it is an excellent item, but it seems to me more like the difference between a warrior in cobalt and one in indicolite: definitely nice, but not a game-changing item like a Donal's BP. I could be wrong though.

![]() The pet is 800 more HP than earth, 1500 more than water.
Has a DS of 50 if I remember right? Fire pet only has like 39-40? Max hit of 81 compared to 70 on greater vocarates. Procs and Stun damages are greater than the water and air pets procs. The only thing it doesn't have is backstab and its higher level, higher base damage, higher spell damage, self DS and better survivability make it superior in every capacity. In any solo situation of value you'd have pet out, epic with charge and spell ready to summon another orb. Which should be 3 if you can micro your pet and such. Atleast in the ideal situation. I'd love to see a 52 Mage on this server with one and have it tank Naggy. I'm pretty sure that + BP cleric would easily duo him. After a few changes on live I was able to solo Naggy with the pet due to the upgraded level 52 heal and stacking FT.
