Make sure you have a MAGIC weapon equipped.

You're not gonna like it the first time you go to melee that wisp and it's INVULNERABLE.
Jus' sayin. If you don't know where to hunt outside of Innothule it's unlikely you are weilding anything other than that rusty/bronze spear or cracked staff and that ain't gonna cut it.

BTW- once you get 9, or even before if you pre-buy your spells, EC orc camps are prime for grouping. at 11-12ish you can do Dervs in Ro. then to Oasis crocs. that opens up alot of options at 16ish.

Wisps assist, btw. Pull them to the Kerra fishing village. And watch out for the madman. He nukes for 78.

That EC -> NRo -> Oasis is a very common and popular way to level up. Those zones should have groups forming regularly. The coin won't be rolling in very much, but the XP should flow nicely.

For coinage, wisps are probably the best bet. If you don't want to make the trip to Wisp Island, you can try hunting them in Western Commonlands. I'm not sure what level is appropriate for a Shaman to start hunting them. And you definitely want to have a magic weapon before attempting the wisps.
