I had issue with this in the past. Even Alt+Enter got me back to full screen, but when I clicked anywhere on the full screen while in game, it would shrink back down to windowed mode. I had to go to Video mode in game while in windowed mode to select the screen resolution so it aligned with my monitor (1900 x 1200) or something like that. Then it stayed in full screen for me; just needed to sync with my new monitor
