chanter should never lose to a wiz at 60.
If a wizard has a crim pot, chanters can weave in and out of max range and mana drain since it has a fast cast time (Vyrenoth did this to me in a 1v1 on Drakar and the duel lasted an eternity and was excruciatingly frustrating).

If the chanter has a cure shield, the wizard cannot possibly win even with crim pots and will lose a 1v1 100% of the time unless the chanter suffers from mental illness and fails to chain rapture and mana sieve the wizard to no mana.

Farzo does have a chanter, so I would give him a bit more credit [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This has happened to me, it's so amazingly annoying. Took about a hour of fighting to a draw as I kept tapping monsters and dispelling my pet.

setting matters too obvi. if wizard is fighting an enc in the confined botb arena with dot last slotted and 4 clickies, wizard is protected against pells and is gonna outnuke sieves/runes if he's nondowns and clicky casts.

Mana Sieve has the same cast time and spell casting range as draught of ice. So assuming equal skill you should be able to do trade 1 for 1 draught for mana sieve with the exception being Theft of Thought every 120 seconds at an unmatchable 2 second cast which at max range will probably trade for 0 damage to enchanter.

Each trade in this manner with specialize evocation maxed on wizard is roughly a ~563 mana loss for wizard and a 481 hp loss for enchanter. Assume Theft of Thought trades for 0 damage as you should have time to Theft and max range his draught of ice.

Assuming enchanter is self buffed and the wizard gets 0 partials and base hp 1450 + rune 700 + bedlam 350 = 2500 hp = 5.2 draught of ice casts to kill, or 6 casts to kill, but the enchanter needs to oom the wizard before the 6th cast is started so he doesn't die so....

5*563 = 2815 mana from mana sieve and 400 from Theft of thought taken from wizard over roughly 1 minute of max range trading drains for draught of ice. Wizard will not have mana to finish the enchanter even with raid gear as he will be -3215 mana. If the enchanter was cleric buffed, resisted any of the nukes, or able to cast a couple bedlams and max range then the wizard loses his kill condition very quickly. This math also does not include using rapture once every 24 seconds to interrupt a draught and possibly get a mana sieve partally cast before the wizards crimson pot ticks and breaks rapture meaning mana sieve will have a good chance trade for 0 damage.

All of this assumes both players have equal movespeed. If a wizard is moving significantly faster than the enchanter then the enchanter will not be able to max range trade effectively as the wizard will be up in his face nuking him while mana sieve, rapture, and theft of thought are on cooldown and that is very bad.

You can also play a more turtle approach. Zumaiks up, pell roots, ToT.

Also slant lands ALOT. You can easily into sieve or slant into rune refresh
