That was done because someone gave me some money and I had wanted to start doing the tradeskill. It only cost about 600p to get to that point. Took me about 5 days of 1-2 hour play times to get there.
It also is not reason to say that just because I raised that it still will not take a long time to get 5k saved up.
To be able to save up 5k by the time you are 15 means never buying anything for your character to help him out to get there and knowing ever money secret in the game, which apparently I do not if you guys are rolling in cash as you seem to be. I don't have anything above level 21 here and some of you guys have a couple 50+'s in some cases.

This doesn't even make sense.

Trance sticks go pretty cheap. Can probably get them for less than 200. You'll actually do pretty good with 5k if you already have fbss and hbc.

5k might not be typical, but 1k by 15 isn't too out there. Qeynos (rabid wolf/bear), FP (orc belts/scalps) or Faydwer (orc belts/pads/chips) all have low level plat opportunities. And they all have skeletons for bone chips.

Add to that any gifts from higher levels and a starting nest egg should be within reach.
