If I could I'd run a completely updated client with a modern 3D engine, new models, and new artwork all using the exact same server data. In fact I'd *pay* to play that game.

Target rings, target box con color, compass, maps, luclin models, all removed for "classic", and people claiming to want a pure eq experience. Doesnt change gameplay at all, but its done - and yet these same people wanting a pure eq experience play with the shadows on. I agree with you on an updated engine. Keep EQ *exactly* like we have here, update the graphics to a modern engine, and I think you would have hundreds of thousands of subscribers.....

There is only one man that is capable of updating the graphics for EQ and not making it suck, he is toddfx

I was browsing toddfx's thread last night and wow those screenshots really pop!

For anybody who missed it the first time around, toddfx guy also made a really kickass video of EQ models playing musical instruments.

I agree with everything said here (I have all the toddfx screenshots saved to my HDD), and weep quietly into my keyboard because I know it will never happen. I have friends and colleagues who could possibly make it happen though...

In fact, that's a project I'd love to take on. All we need is an EQ obsessed millionaire patron to fund it.

I was building Neriak in Landmark very early on till they took the EQ off the branding & there was the Gategate thing & I just got annoyed with the whole thing.
