Does GM intervention affect you at all in this situation or take away from your classic experience?

If not...

Support said they couldn't do anything for me and less than a week later they made it so you couldn't drop coin on the ground. Yay classic.
Until I had been playing here long enough to find out coin can't be dropped I was still doing my old classic technique of initiating the trade with 1 plat gold silver or copper then putting the rest of the cash in once the window for trade was open.

It didn't take losing money on the ground very many times to make this a reflex practice - even years after they disabled it on live.

Not true at all.

I know from personal experience you WILL get pulled into a GM conference if you scam enough.

Like everyone else in this thread is saying - petition forum, use imgur.com to upload your image. If you upload it in the default format EQ saves the pictures in, it may get "whitewashed" when you upload it. If this happens, simply open the file in paint, save the file a .jpg, then re-upload.

Sorry to hear this happened to you but... we try really hard to tell people to stay away from stuff like this, or "give me the money and ill come back with the item" situations. I can say for sure that the player who scammed you will get punished - as far as your money goes, that's a big "maybe". Usually once platinum is 'banned' or on an account that is going to be banned, it's gone forever.

So petition if you haven't already, and we'll go from there.

The old buy-a-fungi-get-a-cloth-tunic scam was classic. Doesn't work here though.
