1 byte = 8 bits meaning 2-3 megaBYTES per second equates to 16-24 megaBITS per second. Normally ISPs advertise their internet speed in BITS while I believe Windows displays transfer rates in BYTES. So this means a 50mbps download speed would allow you to transfer up to 6.25 megaBYTES per second as a theoretical maximum.

Also, when looking at the `MBPS` acronym a capital `B` indicates BYTES while a lowercase `b `is BITS. Or at least this is how it should be.
I'm aware of this, most people equate real world downloads to megabytes not bits since that's how we see it download
