However, if this was not due to any bug in the game (and was player self - inflicted through bad choice in bind spot / afk), it should be player resolved, not guide resolved.

Players will and did readily respond to the call for help. This is what builds community and I feel like Guide intervention both cheapens the community's own efforts to build itself as well as crosses the line of Guide interference in normal play.

If the death loop was truly due to bug, I retract all above.

I tend to agree with this, although Sirken saved half my ass when i got deathlooped. I also dislike GM run events where people are threatened with a ban if they interfere with the event. Thats not what a sandbox game is to me. GM efforts in my mind should go towards making the sandbox flourish. Like spawning mobs somewhere for 6 hours with a simple yellow message and letting the players sort it out themselves.

There must be more to the story. Getting summoned out of a death loop is one thing, GM rez for being an idiot another.

In order to correct this misaligned "help" that the OP received, please rebind him where he was and commence with the death loop. Allow the community reach out to this soul. It will make us stronger, better, and may even aid in increasing population as the good guides so intended.
