No sound

EQClient.ini > Sound = True?

(on work pc, no eq install, but I'm pretty sure that's it)

Nope I mean right click your EQ ICON on your desktop>click properties open file location/find target>then find an eq icon named optionseditor double click it and make sure sound is checked...
