Hi, I am considering joining Project99 but am a little confused about why it requires Titanium (which includes 10 expansions as I understand) when the server is only running up to Velious?

I have all my original CDs and expansions up to PoP (where I stopped playing) and never bought Titanium. I looked up Titanium on Amazon and it was fairly pricey for something which this server doesn't use the majority of.

I am very interested in joining simply because off all the MMOs I've played over the past 2 decades, EQ was my first and it had the best community I have ever known.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

I appreciate your feedback. I am no stranger to where to obtain software free. I simply choose not to do so in most cases.

I have friends in San Diego who actually designed the Original EQ and many parts of EQ2. Because of them, I chose to simply spend a small amount of money (for me at least) on Amazon to purchase my own legal copy.

I was more curious as to whether the Project99 staff intended to one day incorporate these other expansion which came with this set and thus, specifically chose it.

Hope to see you in a few days after arrival and installation is complete.

Regards,

Regards,
I understand you know people who worked on the original EQ. But you do realize that buying a 2nd hand copy of the game off Amazon does nothing to benefit them? There is no royalty paid on a 2nd hand copy. There is no additional revenue the game generates off the 2nd hand market. You just gave your money to a random dude on the internet and your friends were in no way affected by it.

I say this not to make you feel bad, I just don't understand this rational. I actually feel bad for those that waste their money buying a legit copy of the game when they aren't playing a legit copy of the game. Either way I hope you enjoy the community and if anyone chooses an evil shaman check out my guide below!

*Edit P.S. The staff does not plan to incorporate more of the game outside of Velious. Once Velious is complete the Project will be complete. After Velious is released and all timeline's worked out and all bugs researched out, I am told a relaunch will occur from start. In essence this is the beta server. If I am wrong on this staff can correct me.

its the client version they picked for the eqemu project, no reason in particular other than it works and its what they did.. you can actually download a tool to remove the excess files (but dont delete velious files!)
