Let me explain how the whole bit torrent thing works. If any given torrent has a virus in it, people who download that torrent will get that virus, and then come back to the torrent's page and say "it gave me a virus". Then, people will stop using that torrent. Meanwhile, a torrent without viruses will get more and more popular, because people don't like viruses.

What all that basically means is, if you just download the torrent with the most people sharing it (ie. the one with the highest number of "seeds") you essentially don't have to worry about viruses. (Or at least that's true for anything remotely popular.)

Now, the other way you can get viruses is from clicking links on torrent sites that aren't actually torrents themselves. Advertisers on those sites try very hard to look like they aren't advertisements; some will literally just have the word "download". However, if you learn what the actual torrent download link is for a given site (eg. on The Pirate Bay it's the magnet icon), and just click that, you'll be fine.

How are people still this lazy and dumb? This isnt the days of Napster where people had no idea how to get stuff...

When the rest of us were using "usenet, news groups, irc" etc.

If someone has to hold your hand and spell it out for you, I think EQ might be a little too complicated for you.
