I just got here so my opinion doesn't count for much. I haven't noticed any boxing so far and I had a couple of people go out of there way to make sure it didn't appear I was being boxed last night so I think there is a lot of support for straight up play.

FYI DEVS.. THIS IS THE KIND OF TALK THAT REALLY RUINED VZ/TZ.. It was the whiners like this who casually ask for other players accounts to be destroyed so things are "equal". The devs on VZTZ have been Banning the people who use this kind of speech in game or on the boards and allowing them the opportunity to race to the top again... just by themselves... and If you want server integrity it may be advisable to follow this approach.

What a maroon! I didn't ask for accounts to be destroyed. I didn't say anything about "equal". I wasn't "whining". I even said that it was purely selfish and wouldn't it be nice as a new player from a "personal perspective". If a dev came to me and said, "we'll wipe the server if you say so", I'd say no. I don't know enough about where things lie yet. I don't know how big a problem PLing and boxing really is. I don't know if there are compelling reasons either way. I simply said that, as a new player, it would be nice if it were a clean server.

multiple players on same IP = moot point. pro boxers will just VPN and risk way less than the lesser offender boxing from the same IP i'd imagine. if IP was all that was checked when looking at boxers there would be a bunch of family or roommate players who would be outed and plenty of the big bad wolfs waiting for their field day

The server practically was wiped clean during the Great DDoS Sundering of 2010, lots of old school players took extended breaks or simply didn't return.

It would be technically possible. But it won't happen on this server as has been stated over and over (and over and over) by the server devs.

Well, it wouldn't take any money. Like said above though, it would take a LOT of time. Creative content control is always nice though :P

We're still uncertain of the max player capacity of the server. It is untested by our hardware or eqemu in general I'd guess. If the population keeps going up, we might get a second server before Velious arrives. Who knows ;P

Kastro, if everything that I've heard is true, there's a lot more than forum posts that ruined VZTZ. I'm not censoring posts of people wanting to play on a fresh server. Hell, if I was a new player, I'd want a fresh start if it was an option. Perhaps you should explain to them why you don't want a server wipe. Anyways, wipe = not going to happen.

I mentioned in another thread that when 2boxing is more likely happening than not, but still iffy enough to be questionable, that I don't report. Would you rather get the iffy reports? I don't really know what resources you have available to investigate beyond frapses and screenshots sent in. What's your take on when to report?

I'd love a second server simply to get away from the sickening powerleveling / twinking that goes on here. To me, that's simply cheating. I'd love if spells, other than healing, could not be cast on players 10 levels lower than the spell. Most importantly, DS.

I'm sure any important camps are permapcamped by lvl 50s in their quest for twink gear. Ghey....very ghey.

One major reason expansions were needed were to get those 50s the fk out of those camps so up and coming players could finally get at them.

I haven't gotten my ip exception yet but I am really starting to worry that me and my wife are going to be constantly accused of boxing. We duo 80% of the time and I am sure it looks like we are boxing. I understand the problems with boxing on a server like this and I sure won't miss it but I sure hope I don't have to deal with being accused of it again and again.
