I get 1 charge of insta-dispell from a stick
After that I have to self dispel which because of cast time barely gives me time to cast my DD.
If you can get in a bard group and get dispelled from them its nice, but that doesn't always happen.
There is also some other more radical ways... but still... that AE sucks.

Depends on the boss. Verant made lifetaps a -200 MR check vs. completely unresistable at some point. This was in addition to adding the 6 level check where you always fail on mobs 6 levels higher than you.

Then, because Verant wanted some mobs to not be slowable they gave those mobs 1000 MR to make them immune to slow. This had the side effect of making them immune to lifetaps.

Not all raid bosses have this (Cazic-Thule & Inny definitely should be lifetappable). I have no idea if the Nexona should or should not be immune to lifetaps at this point, but it is possible she isn't.

Velious changes things up because they added specific spell immunities so mobs could be flagged as unslowable without just giving them super high MR and many mobs had their MR reduced so lifetaps would be able to land again.
