I started in May and made lvl 20 two weeks ago. Between real life and EQ Live raiding I don't see the rush. If I wanted to rush to 50 I would just make alt #694 on Live.

This time I'm trying to do as many of the quests I skipped in the last 11 years.

Haha, thanks, I remember vividly.... I created my monk in sept of 1999. Running around blind, dying all the time, getting pissed off and breaking 4 keyboards.... I definately look forward to getting ganked by rats & orc pawns! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
You won't be blind; at least outside. Something is funky with the night graphics and you can see as clearly as it if were day; albeit everything is a different, night, color. Truly I miss the being blind days [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

I noticed this, too...my erudite wiz sees surprisingly well at night.

Yeah, I just started a few days back. Went to the newbie log in Nektulos and would get destroyed by a wandering shadow wolf or a bear when I was sitting to med. I must've looked so amateur dying every 5 minutes because of that (and spider/beetle adds).

Got it sorted last night and was able to kill stuff continuously.

Welcome, plenty of lower levels to have fun with. I started 3 days ago and it has been a blast so far, great people here.

I started a few days back and once I get my IP issue fixed my wife will be playing some too. But I can't wait for Crushbone and Unrest and MM Castle and the other fun zones.

I've encountered twinks most of the time. Only rarely do I encounter a genuine low level player. I would say groups welcoming new players are infrequent (unless you mean orc1 in EC). However if you play a cleric you are almost guaranteed a group; play a tank and you should get a group. A troll/ogre sk or the like will have a harder time getting a group.

That said, it IS fun to see a good number of players in old zones.
