So if I ask GM to remove my surname, will I be able to later add a new one? I would like to get rid of my surname, but I am not really sure about new one, just wanna keep the first name for some time before I decide.

I've done it before. only time I wasn't able to add one was after surname had been reported and a gm did the first name_ which is what blocks it. Anytime I have petitioned for a change I have been able to put something else on there at a later time. if not just petition for it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Just make your surname Boobs and it'll get removed on its own. Presto!

Were you allowed to change your surname at all on live once it was set?

At some point on live it was changed such that you can /surname every week and overwrite your previous. However I don't recall when that change was made. Definitely not before Luclin though, so if we are keen on staying classic, it's classic. Or if we are keen on saving guides time I think the code for this would exist on emu.

you could petition for anything. back in the day, each server had their own GM assigned and some were stricter about name policies than others.

on povar/xev they would change surnames if there was a reason. i can recall two guildmates who got divorced irl who wanted their surnames changed in game. GMs changed them without any hastle at all.

I got married on Quellious to someone for the gifts. We had a ceremony and everything. I was 14.

In hindsight, i'm pretty sure the other person was a dude. 'Nadina' if you're out there - i'm on to you. Took half my shit in the divorce.

Rofl, very funny story.

As I recall the only wedding I ever went to was held on top of the Kaladim entrance, I think it was on 7th hammer server, with a guild named "Longbeards".

You had to use levitate from the huge hill in front to get on top, but hey, was a nice ceremony. Plenty of short beers.
