Let's see what one of the most ardent supporters of unregulated capitalism, Mr. Alan Greenspan, has to say about it:

Quote:
In Congressional testimony on October 23, 2008, Greenspan acknowledged that he was "partially" wrong in opposing regulation and stated "Those of us who have looked to the self-interest of lending institutions to protect shareholder's equity – myself especially – are in a state of shocked disbelief."

Referring to his free-market ideology, Greenspan said: "I have found a flaw. I don't know how significant or permanent it is. But I have been very distressed by that fact." Representative Henry Waxman (D-CA) then pressed him to clarify his words. "In other words, you found that your view of the world, your ideology, was not right, it was not working," Waxman said. "Absolutely, precisely," Greenspan replied. "You know, that's precisely the reason I was shocked, because I have been going for 40 years or more with very considerable evidence that it was working exceptionally well."

Greenspan admitted fault in opposing regulation of derivatives and acknowledged that financial institutions didn't protect shareholders and investments as well as he expected.

Great people are great because they are driven to be great. Nobody has ever been "accidentally" great. The entire premise is a fallacy. Tribes have such a small population set that everyone breaking down and starving by being lazy is illogical. There would be something done before a crisis of "laziness" due to self interest. A mutiny would occur.

Please stop with fox news logic.

It's just that in reading all these discussions about how to solve the raiding question, I couldn't help but see the parallels to RL pop up over and over and over.

I just thought it would be a good topic to discuss in and of itself (how these constructs are impacting the raiding scene that is).

OP gizooglism:

Once there was a natizzle tribe dat lived up in peace n' harmony fo' thousandz of years, n' every last muthafuckin dizzle tha routine was tha same: huntas would go up from tha tribe n' when they returned, tha bounty from tha hunt was shared equally by all thugz of tha tribe. No one went horny when chicken was available, not even tha weak, tha sick, or tha elderly.

One day, da most thugged-out skilled hustla holla'd, "I’m tha dopest hustla n' shit. I bust a cap up in mo' than mah share of deer n' shit. Why should I share tha bounty of mah hunt?" And from dat dizzle forward his thugged-out lil' punk-ass fuckin started storin his crazy-ass meat up in a high mountain cave fo' realz. And then other skilled huntas holla'd, "We bust a cap up in mo' than our fair share of deer like a muthafucka. Right back up in yo muthafuckin ass. Shouldn’t our crazy asses have tha right ta keep tha bounty of our hunt?" And they too fuckin started ta store they meat up in high mountain caves.

And then, suttin' fuckin started ta happen up in tha tribe dat had never happened before. Right back up in yo muthafuckin ass. Some people, especially tha old, tha weak, n' tha sick, fuckin started ta go horny while others was well-fed. Y'all KNOW dat shit, muthafucka! In fact, it became so commonplace dat no one even thought it unusual dat some was starvin while others had mo' than what tha fuck they needed.

And what’s even mo' strange, tha tribal eldaz fuckin started ta teach they lil' ta emulate tha hoardin habitz of these few.

And then the guy who owned the land that the mountain and deer were on appeared and said

"Start dividing the food or get the fuck off my land"

Yep Winston had it right all along.

Not saying capitalism is perfect or anything, but socialism is just that.

Then why are the far more socialist European societies so much more successful than us in every way other than militarism? Happier, wealthier per capita, more egalitarian, cleaner, and healthier?

I bet you all see yourselves as the alpha hunters, don't you?
