Are the PHs and other mobs in the area also around lvl 14 like the courier?

Yes the PHs are quite a bit lower than the surronding mobs. Some of the PHs are higher level than the Courier, i think the Sabertooth Kit is the lowest lvl one but courier isn't much higher level. But, most certainly the PHs are much lower level and easier to kill than the non PH goblins that roam around.

One thing I did notice that I don't think the wiki mentions is that on several occasions I was able to get a Sabertooth Tiger at a spawn point, the first time I saw him I thought I may have been on the wrong spawn point, but then 4 or 5 mobs later a Courier did spawn.

I think so, I've been helping out low level players whilst I'm at the camp.

For those who have done this before, what was your experience with him and the ring dropping? I would really like to get it as it would be extremely useful for me!
Using Tacite's guide, spawning the 2 PHs, the first night in 5 hours I got 30 couriers, with not a single ring. The second day, after 10 minutes I got it on the first courier. Then, 10 minutes later, the person who took my camp got the ring again.

What does this all tell me? Totally random camp. My advice to you is this:

Do an hour or two of the camp each time you're on and chip away at it. You'll get it soon enough. Don't burn yourself out putting massive hours in at once.

Hope that helps

Thanks Crede. Due to the hours that I can play, that is what I have been doing. probably spent 10 hours all up with my longest camp being 4 hours. I'll keep chipping away at it, but for now I think I'll go back to focusing on levelling.

This is good advice.

Also, I don't think some people realize that there's at least 4 places other than the "sweet spot" noted in the wiki (the one with two spawn points) that can spawn the courier/PH, so there will most likely be a spot available anytime you want to go camp it.

As a druid in the mid 30's I actually prefer the other spots over the "sweet spot" because they have less roamers (I haven't had any problems with the courier being KSed by other NPCs) and are easier to manage at my level.

Thing that gets me is I'm merely doing this for need and each time I was ksed, it was for greed and the grief that ensued was /report worthy. So I can see their frustration with the infrequent drops.

If the ring was so easy to get, it would be worth a lot less. The drop rate is quite low.

Granted that being true, I can and have been farming it. Just luck hasn't been on my side.
