I gave it 6/10 stars. It wasn't anywhere as good as the original trilogy, but was a fun movie none-the-less.

Not even as good as Enders Game or Star Trek:Into Darkness

But I will def feed that machine so I can see the rest of the tale finished out.

Yeah I hear ya... something I will want to watch eventually but I'm not excited for Hobbit 2 after seeing the first one. Them breaking into song and dance ruined it for me.

In The Hobbit the book they break into song and dance a lot. This do this in LOTR as well except they didn't put it in the movies......it's a pretty big part of the lore and story so if that ruins the movie for you........

Say what you will about The Hobbit movies, if they made 12 of them I'd watch them all. There aren't many huge budget fantasy movies out there that aren't total garbage so I take what I can get. Especially LOTR.

I liked LoTR as a movie because I thought it had a good story and the action was good. Like you mentioned decent fantasy movies are also hard to come by.

If Hobbit stayed good to its roots, a book, good for it. I watched it and it looked like a Disney movie. Having an entire movie of singing dwarfs and hobbits is complete garbage.
