This. I take a SSRI for general anxiety and since i've been taking it i've found that i can get high again without getting super paranoid. I still don't particularly love it though, weed strains now are way too fucking intense.

Smoked weed from 15 to 24 or so then quit for a few years, now I get the same way when I hit weed, its just your tolerance though... hit it here and there that anxiety feeling will go away once your tolerance goes back up.

There are two major kinds of weed available. Sativa, which is higher in THC content, this is the stuff that gets you all head high and anxious. Indica, which is going to be higher in CBN and CBD. These are the chemicals which make you feel "body high."
Unless you live somewhere with dispensaries you won't have much of a choice what you get.

Some people just can't smoke pot. You're not the only one it causes anxiety for, and really the anxiety can pop up at any time.

If you really want to smoke, take the second posters suggestion. What he was talking about was the two 'different' kinds of weed. Sativa is far more widespread (from what i've seen) than Indica. Basically Sativa is more of a 'mind high' whereas Indica is more of a 'body high'. When you have no tolerance, that doesn't mean a whole lot because you get high as shit regardless, but in your case it's your best shot at not experiencing the crushing anxiety every time you get high.

Basically, if you don't live in a state with medical marijuana or don't have a green card to buy it with, you're probably shit out of luck. From what I've heard the pot down south is absolute shit anyway.
