In once case we all got loot but it was different loot. In another case this was a instanced quest dungeon and it was one set of loot and we just doled it out based on who could use what IE, a robe went to the caster and the melees got the melee weapons etc.

So since that second scenario was in a instance I do not know how the loot works for a contested areas mob drops in a non instance.

the first scenario is a complete deal breaker for me, I'd like to know how prevalent that immersion obliterating mechanic is in the game.

yeah I hear ya man thats why we play EQ right? If it was up to me there would be zero instances. i'm guessing it is probably going to be at least moderately prevalent.

No getting away from that WoW precedent. People want quick and easy, we're the minority who like it hardcore [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I don't mind $15/month if they're not trying to cram DLC/shiny mounts in on top of it for extra. All sounds very positive...very hard to make any online game that players really stick to. WoW was arguably the last one and its about time we had something fresh enough that everyone will like and play.
will be 15$ a month. there will also be a realmoneyshop for "fun" items

By vehicles I don't mean cars and jets I meant like siege weapons and battering rams and wagons to carry players. I honestly didn't think anyone was going to think I was talking about tanks and humvees but whatever.
Yeah I'm dying to get back to some of gameplay as I only got to play on my one hero. Only one of the alliances was open and it was the won with the dark elves, argonians, and nords so I made a Dark Elf sorcerer with a destruction staff. The other staff I could have used was the restoration staff. The sorcerer had 3 skills trees and you can either specialize in one area or mix and match. I concentrated on the dark magic line which was mostly disables and CC of the sort, I was thinking after that thought the restoration staff might have been cool because I could have had disables/cc and some healing action. I wanted to really have utility, but not to say the destruction staff was by no means not fun because it was awesome. The other 2 lines for sorcerer was Summoning and Storm Calling with summoning obviously you have your pets such as the different atronachs and familiars and Storm Calling dealing with lightning nukes. The other classes that were playable at the time was Dragonknight which sounded pretty damn cool I can't wait to mess around with that class. Then there was the Templar which sounded like a melee tank with heals, though I was wandering if this Templar class for heals would be better off going with a restoration staff for even more heals IDK though. Of course sorcerer which I went over and then Nightblade which was the assassin type class. Of course there are more races and classes but so far these are the only unlocked ones in beta. The other 2 alliances that are together is the wood elves, high elves, and khajit. Seems like that alliance will be hard pressed in pvp because I believe those are the least played races for ES players. The third alliance consists of Bretons,Orcs, and Redguard. I don't believe you can actually play as the Imperials which kind of sucks since they were an awesome race.
there are siege weapons. dunno if u can ride on them though :P
you are wrong about elves though. a LOT of pvpers are going elven because 1) they get more targets, and 2) LONG LIVE THE QUEEN. but Ebonheart will have the most. personally ill be with the Elves and Cats. and no Imperials are not a playable race. daggerfall will be the ghosttown

is it open world or instancing?
Cyrodil is open world, home regions look to have more of the instanced crap. your main story is 100% instanced to you (no pals allowed). but there will be both public and instanced dungeons

dont go tinfoil. the game was planned for PC and began development back in 2007. they have said that if anything console gamers will be at a disadvantage in the ESO mmo because Mouse&Keyboard is worlds faster than a console controller, also, in ESO currently they dont have a way for the player mods to go to console (currently halted by restrictions that microsoft and Sony have for their stuff). Console versions didnt start til early 2012.

so wait, you are saying that there is a real loot system instead of that next gen you only see your loot table and everyone gets a handout crap?
Sorry, Loot will be instanced to each groupparty member, gone are the days of manually rolling for an item. obviously this wouldnt be the case if another alliance was involved. but instanced loot is 100% in the game.

I can deal with that if its stuff like gnomish fireworks in EQ, nothing game breaking or putting others at an advantage in combat. I just hope it won't end in things like mining/herbing (WoW example) 20% quicker, or 5% faster mounts. I doubt they'd be so stupid, but nothing surprises me with the gaming industry anymore [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
