I'm not sure what is wrong with your wineq, but for the normal shortcut with patchme you can try.. after launching it: -Open Task Manager -In Processes, Right Click on eqgame.exe -Set Affinity (My advice would be keep CPU 0 checked, and uncheck CPU 1) That works as a manual solution but you would need to do it every time you launch the game. There are programs which force this for XP .exes, I believe.

I also am having this same issue and have tried all that has been mentioned so far.
Running XP and AMD I was running great until sunday night when WinEQ updated. The strange thing is the error I get. "You cannot attach a debugger while playing project 1999" I wanna play on the EZ server or Hidden forest and I can't even get to server select. How does it know I am going to log into P99? Was code added to prevent this?

Like I said, 7+ with updates solves a lot of dual core issues on the AMD Side.
You can try AMD's duel core optimizer here: http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pa...ype=&keywords=
