In reality the server could be both... crank up xp even more, make everything droppable (eventually enough good shit will be in circulation u can get a fungi at level 20)

Item loot would hands down bring pvp to the casuals under level 30. People who dont have 18 hrs a day to invest in pve, could pvp for those fungis at level 12 and succeed if they got together and worked for it. In fact it would be 10x more social because you would need friends to stop from getting ganked every 10 mins.

TBH I'm not really up to the task of trying to explain the point of EQ, DND rules, and pvp games. That is not about the end result (60, full vp gear), and more about how you got there. Item loot is fucking amazing.

If I had a time machine I would go back and put 100x more effort into the item loot servers I played on.

General consensus... I read pages and pages of debate over item loot and most of it is "fuck yeah item loot" for w/e reasons. Not to mention many tells to many people on this box bullshiting about various aspects pvp, the project, whatever. Item loot isn't in because we desperately want people to play with. But it makes the box boring as hell. Everyone pretty much agrees about this.

It is also part of the "Nihilum" issue but its not "the problem". So when I say shit like make VP gear drop able and put in item loot its just a suggestion to help alleviate the endgame pixel lust. Its not "the solution" and it wont ever work alone".
