I have no idea how but I swear it's some kind of money laundering thing. WW/JP style

High item values.. some items sell for upwards of $200 a piece. I believe there was a time Donals BPs were ~$400.

If anything, I think the enforcement of banning people that RMT has forced up the price of items and thus the plat/cash ratio. The higher the ratio goes, the more lucrative, underground and damaging it becomes.

The harder it gets to buy plat, the more expensive it becomes. The more expensive it becomes the harder people are going to try to make reallife cash out of it. It's a cycle, and part of why I think the approach itself needs to be changed.

Especially if the current approach is leading to the server beeing DoS'd and player connectivity issues. This affects all of us.

But how on earth are there consistent buyers of items worth 400!? This is an emulated server!

Often people are not openly RMTing and they hide their intentions until some big event occurs (think IB leaving the server). I think if everything were transparent it would be shocking just how many RMTers you know, game with daily, and consider friends.

That goes for everyone.
I agree with this.

I'm just wondering what you think could be done differently to police this issue. Continuing to make it harder and more dangerous to complete a sale and subsequently forcing up the price does not seem to be more damaging to me. Ultimately I don't care about Platlords pockets being lined or not. If 10 people are going to purchase platinum for an absurd price versus 100 people buying it cheap then who am I to complain when it essentially does less damage to the servers economy.

What do you mean good sir? People buy all sorts of stupid stuff I neither understand or try to make sense out of. $10000 cheeseburgers, $5000 bottles of champagne, private jets, pretty much anything on this list: http://coolmaterial.com/cool-list/24...veryday-items/

$400 cleric BPs are no different. People value things differently. It doesn't have to make sense to anybody but them.
