they've cracked down on platlord in the past and there werent any ddos, besides why would he attack the server he makes so much money on and spend $200 a day to do it.

I'm not saying I think it's platlord, but you have to spend money to make money. Maybe he is using the DDOS to buy him some time to make an escape from GM investigations. He has to protect his assets.
