A small liberal arts college in Massachusetts has won the dubious distinction of being the first to officially condemn the American war against terrorism in Afghanistan.
Hampshire College students and staff in Amherst voted 693-121 for an antiwar resolution that also was an anti-American screed.
The one-page statement calls the war "symptomatic of the racism of American society." The resolution also blasts the failure to address the "root causes" of terrorism.

The resolution was pushed by a group called Students for a Peaceful Response---and antiwar organizers counted the ballots. “The process is so corrupt that it severely compromised the results,” senior Devan Goldstein told the Chronicle of Higher Education.
