To loosely quote Sirken:

"This isn't VZTZ. We aren't wiping. Ever"

Keep holding your breath though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Who said anything about a wipe? Why would you need new server hardware and additional bandwidth for a wipe?

The only reason I agree a wipe is necessary is to level the playing field of previous corruption across the board.

You underestimate the damage letting one guild get away with murder when other groups can't do the same over even a period of time like a few months.

Nevermind years...

The sheer fact that entire swaths of people are 100% known to have exploited the endgame for a period of time and aren't banned is pathetic.
Then just wipe gear or ban guild. Or guild leaders.

we should end beta and go live with red99; I think we've thoroughly tested it up to pre velious.

They've told us it isn't going to be wiped, and I don't think wiping is a good idea. We would probably lose a handful of players, and once the initial excitement calms down population would be about what it is now, and we'd probably be in the same place with one guild doing all the raid content. Then what, another wipe?

Artificially restarting the game over and over is no way for a legitimate project like this to thrive, imo. It'd be pretty cool if they decided to delete the blue server and start up a teams server, or something, though.

I kinda like how vztz would repeatedly wipe. Cleanse the server, a fresh start for everybody! Players can dream of glory and boxy PvP. But it would never happen here [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] And the grind is a bitch.

I personally think FFA is best, because ppl can change sides to naturally balance out the guilds to promote optimal PvP, but it seems that has not been the case here... too many bluebs. Therefore, I support a wipe and teams implementation, with three teams. A lot of ppl currently playing blue want teams, and we all know the red players will play anyway regardless of whether it is FFA or not. Cross teaming will happen, (bleh) but maybe only 1 char per IP, or 1 char per verified phone number (!! Scary, definitely deters new players due to reluctance to give out phone # to random internet emu projects) then we could curb some of it. Then further down the line maybe open up a char slot (or second account) for alts, like they did on Sullon.
