Microsoft isn't one of the world's largest companies for nothing, of course they're going to make this presentation count considering there's been next to no good press regarding their new system. Besides, you can't have a bad conference when Kojima's got your back.

Heallun, i thought it didnt sound right when I was watching the presentation, but I had missed the intro to the MGS5 section because I tuned in a little late.

Tiggles, I don't doubt you when you say titanfall isn't an exclusive but... are you 100% positive...? i could have sworn they said it was, but i guess i could be very wrong.

Strifer, as I often do I agree with your post (though I REALLY wish you'd change your avatar back!!), but unfortunately this IS the way the industry is moving. You will no longer 'buy' and own videogames, you will rent them, and the second you disconnect your console you essentially returning those games. I know it sucks, but the PC has been like this for some publihers for quite some time now (isn't steam sort of like this atm?). Like I said, we are going to h ave to adapt, or speak with our wallets.

I'm about to watch the Sony conference, will post thoughts for anyone who cares or wants to know what happened after the video (or possibly tomorrow.... i am absolutely exhausted right now)

the whole "you licence games only" think is not an industry standard at all. The only reason the game market will move in that direction is if consumers allow it. It's corporate greed at it's finest.

An attitude of "Oh well, I guess thems the breaks!" is not the stance to take here. Microsoft is overtly trying to get us to purchase a gaming system with a bloated price and the ability to spy on us (read: required kinect attachment with creepy stalky patents in place). In return we get the ability to puchase game licenses and have no right to any property... which is totally controdictory to what like we have with today's gaming systems. What a great deal! It sure is awesome to give Microsoft the tools they need to milk even more money out of our pockets, right?

Consumers don't have to stand for it. Neither do you.

i completely agree with you.

people need to vote with their wallets, and they need to do it now.

unfortunately, i see games like sim city drop and pick up crazy amounts of sales and think 'we're doomed'
