Same thing happened to a good RL friend of mine. I met him through EQ and we lived in the same city so we started hanging out. Great guy, he was married to another EQ player, they had 2 kids, etc. One day she asked for a divorce out of the blue. She left him for another guy she met in game. Abandoned her kids, moved to California, the works. My buddy had to call her and basically beg her to speak to her own children and stay in their lives. What a piece of trash she was.

My friend eventually quit EQ when he realized what a destructive force it could be. He went out and found a good woman who had kids of her own who was in a similar situation to him. They got married and went on to live a happy life together as far as I know.
This didn't happen to be in upstate NY, did it? IIRC the guy I knew was married to a woman with 2 kids for a previous marriage, 2 kids with him and just split for the coast.

This one is more of a WTF and I still don't understand all of the situation but way back on Live during early Velious days my dad was married to a female Halfling rogue in game that was played by a real life couple. We were all in the same guild and grouped together all the time. You could tell when the character was played by whoever because the demeanor and play style would change. Anyway, one day, the female player logs on and starts telling my dad that her husband wouldn't be playing anymore for a good while because apparently he had child pornography on his computer and he got busted so to speak. She claims he was framed but I really didn't know what to think about it at the time. I was fairly young actually and didn't find out until much later where he had really gone.. But never saw him again.

lots of relationship drama back in the day, had a necro/enc couple in my live guild necro was a great guy enc was kind of a cunt but we put up with her for him. Anyway one day she joins our rival guild, leaves him, and moves in with their GL.

A few months later that GL kicked her out and she moved back in with our nec. we screamed and yelled at him for being a fuckin idiot but he "loved" her.

Everquest bitches be trifelin
