Instancing was the begining of the end for MMO's and it killed a lot of what made EQ the best MMO...If content is to be isntanced then I'd rather just go play WoW...

-Homogenized classes -Loss of flavour abilities / skills -Simplified game-play (I use more abilities on my shaman in EQ than I do in WoW) -No risk, which devalues feelings of achievement when it comes to rewards -Less options (Fewer races, fewer classes, fewer starting areas, less lore) -More "safety" (Nothing compares to the fear of a werewolf in WK sneaking up on you at night. Not even Devilsaurs or Felreavers) -Making it easier to solo (Removing the "Massive Multiplayer" from the genre) -Making all equipment NO DROP so that there's no market for anything but green crap no one wants. I could go on. But I wouldn't say instancing wasn't what killed MMOs. I'm not arguing FOR instancing either. I just find your statement... lacking. :3

Instancing is one step from a single player game. In WoW you sit in town all day and are magically transported to your dungeon or PvP area and then right back to town. Zero exploration. And zero socializing. It's like playing with bots.

I would rather see luclin and PoP over instanced classic-velious content or custom content.
