It exists, it's called drop transfer and I have no idea why people are so afraid to do it. Just find somewhere no one else goes and log both characters there.
The staff receives about 10+ petitions per week of ground transfers that have gone wrong. If you drop it and it poofs, or if you drop it and someone else picks it up, there's a good chance you're SOL.

that said, there are players (ie: players that buy and sell all day in EC) with good reputations, that actually make a business out of item transfers for people. find someone with a good reputation for not screwing players (no rep does not = good rep), pay them their fee and get your items transferred [You must be logged in to view images. you gms , guides and serverstaff should consider reimplementing shared bank or npc to the game if you already tell us you have lots to do with itemtransfers gone wrong . would safe you and us time to do other things on and for p99. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Sounds odd but one of the things I like about EQ is inconvenience... you need to rely on other people sometimes, and they aren't always trustworthy. I don't think that's necessarily such a bad thing; forces people to interact, builds community etc.

If GM's here started down the same path that live took, or that WoW and other subsequent franchises took, I'd be pretty disappointed. This isn't a game that hands you things, even something as simple as moving your character or your items from point A to point B.

This. Make friends you can trust. It's what EQ is all about.

Folks need to start using their brains and stop being lazy shits.

Guaranteed if you get out of a high traffic zone and go someplace remote with both characters you can do a bag drop without any risk at all.

Too many possible spots to list, be creative... think "how many people walk up here to get places".

I've done transfers for myself in Greater Faydark next to a random tree, big zone so minimal chance of someone happening upon a couple of bags.

Any high value items, just get a guildie you trust in EC to help out. No friends/guildies? Get some.

Lakes, rivers and oceans for drop transfers you're extra paranoid about. People rarely dive deep.

after the latest scams in ec and not trusting anyone you dont know with item transfers(as told by rogean), i was thinking about an an mechanic ingame to solve that problem. sometims you want an itemtransfer to your alts or another account but the item is very important to you to not loose it in a scam or do the old "lay it on the ground and goes poof" trick.

would it be possible to create a npc in, for example, ec tunnels. you would hand in your items to that npc and gave instructions by typing in the name of the char that would be allowed to recieve that items from that npc. sure you would retype that name to prevent any misspelling and also a check on the database that this charname also exists. that other char would log in, hail that npc and would recieve that items in form of a questreward or whatever. problem solved. items or money would be now on the other char.

its not classic after all i know that but sometims you play when none of your buddies is online or noone you would trust in ec.

what do you think about that and serverstaff, would it be possible to create such a feature ?
Perhaps the Server Staff could create an NPC called "A Clue" because scamming is the oldest thing since civilization. Here's a tip, ask someone from a reputable guild that you've seen around to transfer things for you if they have the time and then report them to their respective officers if they pull a fast one on you.
If you truly valued whatever item you want to transfer that badly you can probably afford to wait just a little while for your friends to log on.

"John Everquest press X to transfer your items." Can I get a Gamer Hell Yeah? Maybe a golden trail that lights the way to the npc also for those of us who are directionally challenged?

Just one retards opinion (me, i'm the retard).
