Hey, I like drum brakes. Cleaner than disks, more reliable, and last longer. Disks are better for mountain driving or for tracks but for normal street driving in most the country I consider them an unwanted hassle. I curse them every time I have to clean my whitewalls, which is frequent because disks are filthy things.

On top of that it's getting hard to find quality parts; the past few years I've got into the habit of carrying around a laser thermometer due to calipers sticking so often these days. It's odd since disks aren't new tech (as you point out) and I never had any great trouble with dragging brakes 20, 30 years ago. It's just recent. I suspect the manufacturers are cheaping out on quality nowadays like everyplace else.

If your brake is getting hung thats a problem with the caliper not retracting properly. Yes heat does expand the rotor slightly but its in the thousandths. This can be caused by many things, including debris in your brake fluid, the plungers have a hole/tear, there are so many things. Water in the brake fluid makes it spongey instead of snappy. It accumulates over the years, nothing can be done to prevent it aside from bleeding your brakes once a year or so.

The disc is the dumb part that never moves. I would suspect the caliper(s) is having issues or the fluid is corrupted with water. When was the last time you bled your brakes?? I would do that, all four, keep refilling the reservoir til you can be sure its all new fluid with no debris in it. A spec of dirt can get into the brake balancer and that can cause issues, too.

Yes, order your rotors from a good place. Like EBC rotors. They have a set for your whip, I promise. I put a set on a carolla with some yellow stuff pads. JESUS it was peeling my fucking face. I could brake SO LATE from 30-40 mph no problem. It was hilarious. 150 bucks and that shit was like awe inspiring. I had no idea brakes could be so hard and aggressive, on a little shit box carolla. You know what, its not a shit box. It made it to 250k with the AC still functioning.

Lot of trouble with brake hoses de-laminating, that sort of thing. Seems like it's harder to find quality parts than it used to be. We've had brake oil with water in it straight off the shelves. Last time I did the front brakes on the sunday driver Coupe de Ville garage queen (also known as, Miss Prissy) I went to Akron and bought the parts from a specialty shop. So far so good.

Monacco used to be fun like 60 years ago, the cars are too bulky now to even pass.
Boring.

Tell it. I saw one pass. Between 18th and 19th in the hairpin. Team mates. Aside from driving past someone while they are in the pits, nothing happened.

Actually I think in the past 12 race, whoever started in pole position won.
Monacco is just a pit stop for rich fucks.
