Server's fun. XP is a bit on the slow side in general, but i dont see too many people stressing now that the devs found a happy medium. Day 1 involved most of the forumwarriors and hollywood famous banned all-stars from here getting on and spamming global ooc about how bad the server sucked then logged.

The best part, for me? Being able to talk about all the shit you get banned for even mentioning here, seeing screenshots, emails, forum posts about what I really suspected went on behind the pixels on these servers but never got a chance to see before GM's removed it. There were obviously a few people bitter about getting burned by the staff/top tier raiding guilds here and used Sleeper's global /ooc as their medium for vengeance, but nonetheless it was very amusing.

Ppl complained about the server because it WAS bad, not because they just wanted to complain or whatever. It would of taken me 10-12 hours to get from 7-8 soloing yellows and reds in misty. In comparison, it took me 5 days played to get to 45 on red p99, and I played from the start. On sleeper, that means it would take 20 days plus played to get to the same level as I was on red, and thats not assuming that every level beyond level 7 is a lot more difficult than level 7 plus the fact that its a blue server and you don't spend hours on end on pvp. Lots of people came wanting a good server to mess around on and quit pretty quickly. The worst part of it all was all of the people who seemed to want to defend the server no matter what even though it was obvious the server was f'd. I'm sure the server already lost a lot of people that will never come back.

sirken; i'd suggest you try out the server before you go saying L:OLBADBECAUSECOMPETITION. (no offense, cus i feel you're the only dev actually helping here.)

also p99 leached people from peq forums (thats how my brother and i found it) and at launch it only had 100-150 people

Hey Sirken, I wasn't attacking P99, I'm just saying...kind of hard to compare a day one server to one that has been around for years.

I wasn't on P99 on day one, but was only a few months behind, and lets just say...P99 hasn't always been the gem it is now [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This server shows how bad people want Velious to come out.

P99 will lose 20-30% of its population because of it. What we really need is a real time frame on when Velious will come out here.

I think they should do an event like this every year to re-introduce these items. Since the progress of the server is frozen in time, yet real life goes on the number of artifact items in daily use declines to below Classic levels :/

Over a long enough timeline P1999 becomes a Classic server with no guises, manastones, Thex daggers, Box of Abu-Kars...

Haha for sure, /agree with ya there. In their defense, their guides and GMs asked specifically for people to not use P99 forums and game to recruit, despite people doing it anyways. The fact that there hasnt been a single MQ/SEq ban yet makes me sad, they obviously aren't even on your guys' levels there. Idk.. the boxing thing just bothers me. Box + token = a different end game then i think people are realistic about. + i mean XP wasnt turned on when the server launched, my faith in a working raid is shook.

i wasnt trying to put their devs on blast as much as i was simply pointing out differences. if u remember correctly, it took p99 quite a while to get a real MQ detector (and fwiw, dating to feb 08, going back across multiple staffs for multiple servers, ive never seen a better one than Rogean's).

when you are doing the exact same thing, basically implying that everyone is 4 boxing there. Besides which, I think the boxing on p99 is more like ec mules staying logged in, and logging in other toons for ports, buffs, rezes etc.

P99 is not my first rodeo. im basing my opinions off of the previous 5 years of being on different EQEmu server staffs. people risk being banned here if they get caught boxing, and they do it anyway, so of course they will do it there. 2boxing (and cheating in general) in EQ is like steroids in baseball. a couple do it, then a couple more do it to keep up with the stars, eventually everyone is doing it or they get left behind.

look, we could release velious today if we didnt give a shit about making sure it worked and was as classic as possible. VZTZ, and LoZ had/have velious. the problem is that they keep re-releasing the same stock borked version of velious. nilbog recently took me on a tour of velious, and i can tell you that even incomplete, our velious is the most functional one i've seen since EQLive. VZTZsVelious and LoZsVelious dont even compare. if you seriously do not believe that, go try any emu server with velious and report back to me.
