Its weird how one house is 30 mil and the house next to it is 2 mil and the house 2 houses down is 70 mil.

The land seems like it's not really the major draw, but I hear people say the land is the major draw.

Lucky for these folk though, the goverment will pay out 2 dollars for every dollar they had their homes insured for, because these people are too big to fail.

Like the land, is worth 1 mil.

The houses on them are worth 1-50 mil.

I really wonder what the cost of insuring a 50 mil house in Malibu is. And what they're supposed to get back if it burns down.

I imagine the economy locally will be very good in a few years rebuilding these homes.

But for some reason i have this stinking sensation, that the goverment is totally broken right now, and all that's gonna happen is people are going to go bankrupt because of slow rebuilds, insurance companies are going to close, rates are going to go up, and they will rebuild like 10% of the affected area in like 5 years.

I got the 411 on why many of the destroyed homes in CA aren’t insured against fires. Apparently State Farm said basically due to the frequent nature of fires and the houses in CA value, prices would have to be raised to a certain amount

But CA has rules in place that insurance can only charge so much. So State Farm said we can’t insure these houses because it will cause our financial ruin

I will admit, State Farm has come in clutch for me when I needed them for auto or home. But I will also admit, I have paid them more than they have paid me by far, and I still generally don’t trust insurance companies, not by a damn sight

So my feelings are mixed

I think they can sue the state if the state can be substantially proven to be the reason their policy was cancelled? Dunno. That looks like harm which entitles you to relief.

Then you know who pays.

Yeah I looked it up, empty lots ar elike 1-1.5 mil.

Homes are 2-50 mil (i mean they are 2-80 mil but there are A LOT of 50 mil homes in the area, and only a few 80+)

So these homes that burnt down are vastly more expensive than the land they are on.

I don't know what that means in terms of anything, but is just interesting.

I think it wouldn't be hard to prove the state is at fault for the vast majority of these fires due to policy failures.

It's hard to imagine that a state that lost 24 billion can't be sued for mismanagement that they'll say threatens to bankrupt a few 50 billion dollar insurance companies.

Especially with dictator and fascist in cheif heir Trump. Who would also agree that california deserves to have the full force of the law target literally every politician here.
