Knuckle's screenshots inspired me to go dig out one of my old laptops. Found some VZTZ 2.0 (I think) screenshots on there. Here's a couple quick ones with big Rexx. RIP buddy.

Rest in peace Rexx. I hate that I missed out on VZTZ box. Will this ever be back? Does it still exist? I want to play with the hacks and everything, a true wild west experience.

No and no. The hacks were indeed a beautiful thing. Mage epic pets without epic were fun.

The developer of VZTZ did release the DB and source after he closed the project. Salty resurrected the VZTZ box for a brief period with the original DB and code with everyones characters just for fun.

The box itself remains in private ownership, donations lost.

He considered trying to release VZTZ 4.0 for a time but the competition from R99 and Image's server LoZ was too stiff.

Salty himself went on to play on these servers and abandoned attempts to resurrect the VZTZ project as these offerings were very high quality in comparison to what Salty was offering I believe.

Server was a shitfest that failed, was infested with the biggest pvp losers and hacks were standard issue.

Who cares?
