Not at all. I think what he did here was impressive though, as far as emulated EQ servers go. I didn't mind the guy and I think he gets a little too much blame for the problems caused by 75% of the people who decided to play here over the last 2 years.

That being said, his time (and the age of Nihilum) have passed. I am looking forward to seeing the shape the server takes without him controlling it, if only just to see how it changes.

My hope is Holocaust runs Azrael off the box and finds a way to amicably split into multiple competing factions. Azrael is just as much an artifact of the previous regime as Nihilum, and the box cannot be truly cleansed and allowed to grow until all weeds are plucked from the garden.

pretty much contradicts everything you just said, and if forced to make an opinion about a guild I did not experience myself I'm more inclined to believe the guild leader than a member. I am not holocausts emissary or spokesman. You have Holocaust's TS info you could easily become a member on any toon without my help. But as a guild Holocaust is focused on the future, and you seem to be stuck in the past.

That contradicts nothing I said actually. That policy was put in place so that the neckbeards putting in 5x the time as the casuals could get some drops for their second character and not be permanently stuck behind the non stop influx of new apps over time. Velious was going to be an actual DKP system, and DKP would have been spent. It would have been highly unlikely any of the neckbeards would have used their DKP on an alt item until 1+ year into the expansion. And as for the applicants getting nothing...for two weeks. Who cares? If you couldn't wait two weeks to prove you're not a Jib-like psychopath trying to spy than w/e.

As for me living in the past, as long as glaringly inaccurate and revisionist history posts are made (especially by someone who wasn't even in the guild) I'll be here to set the record straight.

Yes, Colgate and 90% of the guild is mostly rags taking out Azrael + bulk of the raid mobs on the server, minus VP where very few are keyed (and still grouped up with God's Work to take down Phara Dar) may just be one of the biggest failures in the servers history.

Most of the time in teamspeak Colgate just laments his failures and tearfully tells us of how things were in the good old days.

The only constant this server has ever seen is the failure of Azrael to hold on to the top spot for more than a few weeks at a time, and only being able to rise up when it's gift wrapped and handed to them.

Colgate and co. beat you guys within a couple weeks of trying to, not sure if you're serious or dumb.

In all fairness to Azrael, they were REALLY sure you couldn't put together a enough people to compete with their 35 bis chars, + eternal light + slosh + all the random untagged people they have following them + their alt army... when they rejected your reaching out.

Don't know why people are criticizing Az for not playing like Nihi - while you all huddle together and mass recruit any able person to try to put it back to the same situation as Nihi.

I sit back and laugh, after 3 years of Nizzar what can anyone do to the raid scene here, really. And even though Colgate's Ego will probably spin and change history for himself to feel better it really showed me how immersed this pal is.
