The OP on this thread hasn't posted for over a year - hopefully he wasted his time and no one has had their name changed because of this guy (unless it was seriously offensive or racist or something).

1) There is a stated naming policy.
2) Name restrictions are classic.
3) Some of the names I have seen (e.g. Dickhair, Butthair, Juliaroberts, Ladygaga) I find either unnecessarily offensive or disrespectful of the game, or both.

I may not agree completely with the OP (for instance, I think the naye Pyrocat is just fine) but I think he has somewhat of a point. Given my druthers, I'd see the naming policy enforced with the blatantly bad names. Who decides what is blantantly bad? I'm quite comfortable with the GMs/Devs doing so.

This forum is supposed to be a place to ask questions, exchange ideas and share points of view in a civil manner.

While "gtfo babies" does in fact express a point of view, it is derisive and attempts to disallow those of a certain opinion to share their views. In fact, usage of that expression would seem to indicate a lack of maturity in itself (i.e. somewhat "babyish").

Have you anything to say that uses more than six syllables and provides any actual content for discussion that is relevant to the post?

Reading this thread, all I can see is a large number of people who are:

1) Upset because they were snitched on, or are irrationally bothered by the very acting of snitching,

2) Have no integrity and don't think that an MMORPG built on the concept of immersion should have clearly defined naming policies that are enforced.

It doesn't help, I would imagine, that players would be looked down for utilizing reports or petitions to bring to attention names that violate the server's naming policy. /shrug

Edit: Oh, look. Another thread with more mindless homophobia in server chat thread tags. /rolleyes

They are names on a FREE server, to a service you do not pay for. If you don't like the names, don't look at them. Stop crying.
