Pichai showed off a demo of a new feature in Google Meet: live speech translation. Using an example of a person speaking with a vacation rental owner in South America, the demo showed real-time live translation from English to Spanish (and vice versa) over audio. It sounded pretty solid (although, I don't speak Spanish!).

English and Spanish translation is available now "for subscribers," with more languages rolling out "in the next few weeks."

Why does every god damn podcast use a shure sm7, even the AI ones?? There are much cheaper microphones that sound better, sm7s have a very specific design for attenuating treble in recording studios. You don't have to be speaking into a big foam buttplug all the time. Monkey see monkey do I guess.
