I didn't vote trump but I still blame Shillary. Bernie should have won and she robbed him. He was the only one who had a chance against Trump and she should have recognized this and stood aside for the sake of her party and country.

Before anybody even begins to bash me for this, I am aware Bernie was not a perfect candidate and had his flaws like constantly being bashed for being a "socialist". However, those flaws do not surmount to anything even close to the flaws Trump and Hillary possess. Trump won because the voters backing Bernie switched to Trump or simply did not vote at all after Hillary and her affiliates snubbed Bernie out. Her corruption simply was not an option for many of the democrats I know in person. Out of the 3 of them I wholeheartedly believe he was by far the best choice.
I'm sure there are better choices out there but they simply did not have a chance against the big dogs with the stupidity of the average voter these days who vote based off memes and talking points they see on mainstream media outlets. For example, I was a huge Ron Paul fan and I wrote his name in back in 2008 and 2012 because he was being snubbed out of being the nominee just like Bernie was this time. The corruption in the republican party back then that allowed someone like Bush to become president and John McCain to become nominee was just like the corruption that existed in the democratic party this time around.

But we are stuck with Trump for now so all we can do is work together and work with him to try and fix the problems this country faces. What we should not do is the shit the Hillary supporters are doing by refusing to acknowledge his presidency and trying to further divide the country (Example: Shia Lebeouf and many other liberal celebrities). I didn't vote for trump but every time I see a "He is not my president" I want to punch the idiot saying it in their incompetent face.

I would like to see Trey Gowdy or Jason Chaffetz run in 2020 or at least get appointed to a meaningful position like Attorney General. Trump talks about draining the swamp. Those are his guys yet neither were appointed to meaningful positions and are still part of the "do nothing" congress. I do thoroughly enjoy watching the two of them roast corrupt politicians, government employees, and cabinet leaders in congressional hearings though. It's a shame they can't actually drop the hammer on any of them.

Or how about reduction of defense spending into the military industrial complex and other black budget programs and instead funneling some of that money into our infrastructure which is probably the most important thing they have in common. It's almost like people ignore the important policies and platforms candidates run on and only listen to mainstream media talking points... almost.

Sure pal, but you didn't present an argument you posted 1-liners while pointing and laughing. I do not believe they are "literal opposites". They are from opposite sides of the isle and they differ on a lot of things. I vote based on who I think holds the interests of the American people as a whole above that of his own political party and campaign contributors. Unfortunately, Ron Paul didn't run this time around so he wasn't an option. And I don't believe a word Hillary says quite frankly and am confident she could care less about the American people as a whole and only seeks further her own agenda and that of her contributors. If you vote on your party lines every time just for the sake of doing so then there really is no argument to be had.

edit : I still don't know yet what to think of Trump, only time will tell.

that's the argument. sorry you didn't get that. if you don't care about economics ok cool, but it's the defining issue of both candidates.

Alright I guess the answer is that we disagree on what is the defining issue of both candidates.
I care very much about economics, but their economic policies are not why I liked the each of them.
It is the job of the executive branch to ENFORCE policy created by the legislative branch and protect its citizens from outside threats, not run the economy (government 101).
I think I made it clear why I supported each person see above posts.
But to further clarify, the thing they both had in common that I liked was that they both wanted to reign is the ridiculous amount of government waste and spending that goes into "defense" and the military industrial complex and put it to better use like the infrastructure and education and not trying to be the "world police" which just ends up damaging our ability to protect ourselves since we get caught meddling in everything and have constant backlash, something both Ron Paul and Sanders seemed to agree on at least from my perspective.
