you should ignore him, he's just another harrison clone.

He has been here for 3-4 months (possibly less) and only posts to defend his friend/s, despite not every having participated in any of the raiding on the server.

He is an ignorant bystander that preaches only what he is fed and what he imagines after reading gossip posts on the forums.

Aka, he is belligerent fool.

Feel free to keep carrying on. I know that being the kings of pixels feels good in a thirteen year old game on an emulator server.

Feelings? LOL

Indeed.

So you respond with an adhominem? Poisoning the well?
It's what people seem to know best around here. When in Rome.

SPD during off peak times can be a problem, I see that.

What would be wrong with bi-weekly SPD on, say, Friday afternoon?

Not everyone experiences "Friday afternoon" at the same time. Better to just put it on some kind of variance and let it float around so that eventually it hits everyone's "good time" to log on.

True.

I guess the variance would then still require some poopsocking while waiting for the desired target. Having a specific time would make for ease in scheduling raids, however.

Only if you're in the lucky "prime-time" zone.

Personally i would love to see simulated patch days instead of just repops. Everyone knew it was coming when server went down for patching on a Tuesday and was suppose to come up in about 10-12 hours. Sometimes it had to come right back down an hour after the patch and sometimes there was more downtime throughout the week. Lets just not skip to the gold at the end of the rainbow.

TMO: I see a bunch of posts about this competition for mobs. Let's be clear here. EQ raiding is not hard. All the strategies were worked out in 1999-2001. Afterlife and FoH and Triton and such were the real EQ badasses because they had to figure this stuff out; we just look stuff up on the wiki. All the strategies, whether its using mallets for aggro, or stacking resist gear and bard resists, or FD/CoS pulling, or using Staff of Runes to dispell AoEs, are known to the entire server. Executing them cleanly takes some practice of course, but I have complete confidence that if Acyrid were to elect me their supreme leader and all other L50-60 toons were deleted we would have no problems killing every raid mob, going to VP, etc. Obviously not everyone has farmed the appropriate gear but that isn't hard either.

THE REASON TMO KILLS STUFF FIRST IS THAT NOT EVERYONE IS WILLING TO SIT AT THEIR COMPUTER FOR HOURS TRACKING AND DROPPING WHATEVER THEY ARE DOING AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE 24 HOURS A DAY.

If you guys would do me the favor of replacing every instance of "competition" in your posts with "time spent at computer" I would really appreciate it.

The point that Deajay, Giegue, and I are trying to make is that some of us never played Kunark or Velious on Live. We simply want to kill some of the boss mobs that we never got to kill, experience a little new content, maybe get a sweet item or two, and do it without losing our jobs and social lives. This "man up" shit just makes me want to vomit, which is why I left VD several weeks ago. I'm perfectly content not being in the top guild on the server. The problem with the current system is that the batphoning guilds get literally 100% of the mobs. So yeah, I think leaving Gorenaire up is great.

Anyway this became something of a rant, but just for a moment try to step back and look at this from the perspective of a casual gamer.
