As fun as it is fighting over raid mobs, it should be just as fun spending your time leveling and fighting over places to xp. It's the slow progress that FORCED people to play through every aspect of the game and cherish everything they earned. Without it, nobody works together and nobody gives a shit about their character or their reputation and it breeds trolls and a general "fuck everyone else" attitude at the end game. No thanks, we've seen time and time again how that doesn't exactly work on these hundreds of PVP boxes that have folded.

I agree with you in principal but the exp rate is just horrendous. It literally takes 20 hours of playing time to get level 6. As with most of us here, if I'm coming back to play en emulated version of game I used to love; it won't be to grind again. You'd think since the "purpose" of Red99 is PvP, that it would be possible for it to have an exp rate increase – not godlike, but just a bump. I really think people are underestimating how bad it is, and pair that with classic hp/mana regen. I'd suggest to anyone who is curious to start up a guy on p1999 and see how awesome it is being level 5 for six hours.

I certainly cherished everything I earned in original EQ, down to every last peice of cloth armor, derv ring, sister belt etc. Which was a side effect of slow xp rate. The concept of EQ was to socialize and work together. PVP was an added dimension to that original vision, it wasn't meant to overthrow and take away from it. Getting to level 6 does not take 20 hours. Yes, the grind is slow, but that's the point of trying to enjoy yourself at every level. There is a common misconception that PVP can only be enjoyable at level 50 and it's blatantly false. If you suffer from that misconception, I stand by the argument that you never knew "classic PVP". Being level 8 in crushbone, grinding xp with a group of red pals on trainer hill and fending off the constant threat of other groups trying to take your shiny brass shield camp is just as much fun to me as any pvp at level 50. What's different? You have different spells to cast? There are more trains and griefing? You are fighting over different pixels? PVP is PVP no matter the level. Some people choose to stop at level 20 and log on only to hunt people. Some people choose to continue grinding and work through the game to reach 50 for PVP and raids. The beauty of a classic server is it gives people those choices. Having LOLEZ3timesXP-PVPSERVER only takes away from all of the content prior to 50 and forces everyone to zerg to the end for the same old shit that we've experienced on every fail red box to grace the list.

I had a rogue on RZ that stayed level 20 for years. Like I said, I understand on principal, but I don't know how anyone has the time a decade later to invest in a time sink like original EverQuest, let alone an emulated version. I just wanna be max level and go from there. If the exp is decent I don't mind it so much, but man, p99 is slow as shit. But that's me.

like live single box exp for pvp can work if there is a population ,problem is if the populatin is too low classes that cant solo wont be able level very easily. Its great if the populatin for a speculative red99 is high but what do people expect the population to be at peak hours after the hype of the server is gone?
Thinking we will see 400,300, or 200 after a month or two? I hope its high but i put the O/U at 125 after 2 months
