Yeahh buttt then it was a good time to bomb back we did some prep during all that. Ppl saw the writing on the wall...

Who knows if we had only sent 20,000 troops or put bases literally offshore of Japan we would have just thrown away assets. The war could have gone bad. We could have lost popular support as the aggressors. Etc.

U need to balance offense and defense.

What I wanted, want is not what is likely to happen. Or would have worked. Do I want America to be badass enough to actually do anything practical? Sure would be lovely. Ain't going to happen tho. It's time to pack our bags and go home.
