Why is it the staff bring up "rule lawyering" every time we indicate we want clear rules and consistent enforcement?

Is there something really ludicrous about a request that there be a more clearer and written out Guide or Rules to the Project? Is it outrageous to be against the concept of enforcement action, many times based on non written rules that no one knows about? People were suspended for crying out loud for using OOC as OOC, with no rule. How does this make sense? Rule lawyering is a direct result of there being no rules, and the constant misapplication or different application of them, depending on who is doing the punishment. But because the project is free I guess we can all go fuck ourselves or something. Maybe I should open up a non profit animal shelter and tell people who donate money to my non profit to fuck themselves and put down their animals. Inb4 banned for suggesting more clear written rules and a more healthy discourse between staff and player would be a positive.
