To be fair, we reformed and chugged along until FE allowed IB to start raiding with them. It was something like 50 FE and 10 IB in the beginning, as they had formed an alliance. They were wooping ass for a bit, and typical IB arrogance when discussing their merger pushed FE to us.

On a real note, if this was you, would you not take a 60 man raid force ready to go in VP? Any time you can take something from your enemies (IB has always been the guild I hated most, and I think you can relate to that) and use it as gain is a win win to me. We were dying, and if FE had merged with IB at that time, there would probably not be TMO right now. Although i'm pretty sure thats what you want, thats not what the people who continued on after your departure wanted.

Best thing they could do is give a wipe to raid rules along with velious. At least give the player base a few months of raiding with zero GM intervention to see how it plays out. More mobs would mean zero reason for class system and also less raid issues with the current 2 top guilds since they won't interact "quite" as much. You know...make the server classic again...crazy thought, I know.

There was a bunch of CSR posts on raid rules for Velious, but I can't find them right now. Basically, expect FTE > all and all (Velious) mobs to be FFA. I can't speak to how Kunark/Vanilla mobs will be treated, except to say that planar mobs will DEFINITELY be FFA after they get revamped (Inny/CT 2.0).

Just because stuff will be FFA (which hopefully goes for kunark and classic as well) doesn't mean the current set of rules wont cause frapsquest/lawyerquest/etc... To eliminate that, the staff would have to wipe 90% of the rules clean and let the community be classic and sort their own issues out again. Give it a few months and see how it goes. Were gonna be stuck in Velious for the next decade, so what is it going to hurt.
