Same. Probably the most frustrating thing about the ranger class. And that's saying something...

Tracking players doesn't work on red. Sort by distance is best we can do as rangers. The track text will lead you to a ghost but when you sort by distance you can select and track to the mob nearest your target and that will often lead you in the correct direction.
